"DANCE OF COLOR" ART EXHIBIT

AT THE SOUTH NORWALK BRANCH LIBRARY

The South Norwalk Branch Library is showing the works of three local artists, in "The Dance of Color", starting December 15 at 6 pm - 8:30 through mid-January 2010.  The works of Guana Darbouze, Mario Germain and Fritzner Bizale can be viewed in the Reading Room of the South Norwalk Branch Library during the library's regular hours.

Guana Darbouze, born in Trou Du Nord, Haiti, is a former student of the Institute of Research of African Heritage and Culture in Haiti.  A dozen of her most recent creations will be presented to the general public for the first time in Norwalk.  Her canvases and sculpture reveal unbounded imagination and an unparalleled creative spirit.

Trained as a sociologist, Guana Darbouze is currently attending Housatonic Community College studying for a degree in Human Resources.  Also a founding member of the cultural group "Selide," Guana has great passion for the arts. In her leisure time she writes poetry and for the past four years has been assiduously painting and sculpting.

Mario Germain, born in Port-au-Prince, did his primary studies at Georges Silvain College.  He started his secondary studies at the Normalien College and completed them at Toussaint Louverture High School.  His astonishing competence in several artistic media have made him into a talented and multifaceted artist.  Mario draws, paints, sculpts and writes as well.

Germain's favorite pastime was drawing but his meeting with Guana Darbouze put him in contact with the world of painting.  After years of work, his talent have now been sharply honed and publicly lauded by his peers and the general public.  His most recent paintings were in exhibit in July 2009, at the Brazilian Embassy in Haiti.

Fritzner Bazile, born in Port-au-Prince, received his primary education at the College Union Inter, his secondary studies at Leo Défay, the Institut Evangélique of Haiti and then finished his classical studies at the College Faraday.  In 2004 he studied management at the University Episcopale of Haiti (UNEPH) and becoming fascinated by the arts left in the fall of 2005for the National School of Arts (ENARTS) where he started sculpting his first pieces.

Since then, Bazile has been fully immersed in the world of art.  He has acquired a creative maturity that can be fully reflected in his latest work.  His most recent exhibit was at the Great Haitian Craft Fair held in October 2009 at the historic sugar cane park in Port-au-Prince.
